SWK 406 Field Experience I (5 credits)

Prerequisite(s): Department permission required; SWK 303 with a C- or better, SWK 304 with a C- or better, SWK 305 with a C- or better, SWK 306 with a C- or better, SWK 307 with a C- or better, SWK 308 with a C- or better, SWK 310 with a C- or better, and SWK 311 with a C- or better
Taught: Fall and spring
This is the first field-based course that requires students to complete 200 hours in a community-based agency under supervision of a professional social worker, along with a seminar course. Students apply and integrate generalist social work knowledge and skills, and begin to demonstrate required competencies/practice behaviors for professional practice.
