CVP 603 Fundamentals of Perfusion Management, II (2 credits)

Taught: Spring only
Continuation of CVP 602 with emphasis on the perfusionist’s role outside of cardiothoracic surgery. Examination of advanced principles of cardiopulmonary bypass. The use of HIPEC, AngioVac, ECMO, autotransfusion for the non-cardiac patient, platelet rich plasma, and liver bypass are examined.
