EDU 302 Teaching of Reading (3 credits)

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the teacher education program.
Co-requisite(s): EDS 322 , and EDU 388 , EDU 314 , EDU 310 .

This course supports the teacher candidate’s knowledge related to effective reading instruction that focuses on the five essential components of reading science: phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Underlying theories that support these areas will be the focus of the course work related to development, sequence, application, and assessments.
