PAD 622 Volunteer & Community Engagement (3 credits)Hours: 3 classroom + 0 lab/studio Prerequisite(s): Admission to Public Administration, M.P.A. , Nonprofit Management & Leadership Certificate , Emergency Management & Leadership Certificate , or consent of MPA director. Taught: Summer only This course uses theoretical and applied perspectives to examine the engagement of volunteers and other community members by nonprofit organizations and government agencies to further their mission. It explores key activities related to volunteer and community engagement including: motivation, recruitment, orientation, training, supervision, recognition, risk management, program evaluation, and communications. ♦
