SWK 571 Photography as a Social Change Agent (3 credits)Hours: 3 classroom + 0 lab/studio Prerequisite(s): Declared Social Work major or Graduate standing or consent of department. Taught: Winter Only This course examines social problems through photography and storytelling. Photovoice is a participatory action research method that allows individuals to express their views and concerns from a contextual and cultural viewpoint. This course is experiential in nature; students will identify, research, and explore social problems and concerns from the perspectives of those impacted by such issues. ♦
