LAW 937 Juvenile Law (3 credits) This course examines, among other topics, the legal and philosophical bases for a separate juvenile court system, and of the state’s right as parens patriae to interfere in the parent-child relationship; juvenile court jurisdiction over the delinquent child; and the status offender and the dependent and neglected child through the entire court process.
