Taught: Variable-check w/department This course focuses on the professional role development of the nurse anesthetist as a clinician, leader and clinical scholar with a population focus of the family and individual across the lifespan. Topics include evidence based practice, history of nurse anesthesia, scope and standards of practice, ethics, legal, regulation of practice, business of anesthesia, practice management, reimbursement methodologies and payment policies, chemical dependency, wellness, structure and function of the state, national and international nurse anesthesia organizations, interdisciplinary collaboration, cultural competence, advocacy, and others related to the professional role. ♦
